I know as a nation, we British are somewhat obsessed with the weather but I honestly think it has begun to get to me of late. I’m obsessed. Regular readers will know that my 15 year-old daughter takes the vast majority of my blog photographs. I have neither the patience, nor the skill to use a tripod, unlike my blogging friend Michelle RetroChicMama who uses this method for her own blog to great success. So, we have a window of opportunity after school and at weekends, weather permitting, to get my photographs taken. For the last few posts, we’ve been to our local park so we could give my wall and my garage door a break. I’ve got a new camera, (the Olympus Pen E-PL7, more of which in future), and we’ve both been incredibly excited to use it and very pleased with the quality of the resulting photographs.
We had a similar plan for yesterday, Monday evening. We were going to go to the canal basin straight after school before I went see Absolutely Fabulous at the cinema with my two Aspire Magazine work colleagues, (which incidentally was super-silly and was perfect for switching the brain off and laughing at the ridiculous side of the fashion industry- an irony not lost on this fashion blogger). As we set off, the heavens opened and we managed to get nowhere near the canal and took just ten shots. If you look closely, you can see the raindrops in the final close-up. So, please forgive the less than picturesque back-drop. I asked both of my children if I should go ahead and publish these images, but they both thought they were cool and looked “urban and street”.
Who am I to argue with the wisdom of teenagers?
Love Liz x

I agree with your kids! The images look really lovely and genuine, like you're on your way somewhere and have been papped by a street style photographer! Love your outfit too as always. You look super in those jeans. xx
Ah, thank you Lisa. I was so unsure about posting this one just because it isn't picturesque so it means a lot that you think they're ok! xxx
Your kids are absolutely right Liz. Agree with Lisa. Love these pictures and your outfit too. xx

Thank you. It's very pretty isn't it! xxxxx
Liz that blouse is stunning!! The floral detail is so pretty and it's perfect with the boyfriend jeans… They've really become your signature denim lately, love 'em :))
And I TOTALLY agree about the pictures (quality is fantastic) and the location – the street going up and away like that is fabulous, I wish I had a steep street like that near me! It has great converging horizons, as Keith would say… He always gets excited about those, hehe ;))
