As weekends go, it’s been a lovely one so far and one that has revolved around friends and football. It started on Friday afternoon when I got quite a lot cut off my hair and had some golden highlights and lowlights added to brighten it up for the summer months. The colours are very similar to my own reddish-blonde hair so it’s still very natural looking, it’s just a better version of it! I’ve been going to the same hairdresser, Claire at Chic Hair Studio in Skipton, for almost ten years now. She’s become a friend and is someone I look forward to seeing- an amazing woman with a quite remarkable story.
On Friday evening my friend Annemarie hosted a pamper evening at her home. Yvette Greenway is our beautician, (who has also become a very good friend), and her business Feel Good Therapy, focuses on the well-being side of beauty treatments. Yvette spoke about the importance of feeling good on the inside and demonstrated Elemis and Neom products while we had a few glasses of fizz and nibbles. I definitely think that time spent laughing with friends is one of the best things for well-being too.
The run of dry, sunny weather broke on Friday but it was still very warm so I wore this white lace dress, another of my summer favourites. It lent itself to being accessorised with this fabulously quirky zebra-print clutch. Combining different (animal) prints is something I do frequently and my leopard print wrap bracelet co-ordinated nicely.
My earrings are by Danon and are available at Lizzy O, my online boutique. As with all Danon products, they are handcrafted in Israel and co-ordinate with other items, including the star ring above.
Yesterday, Saturday, I spent the whole day from 8.45am watching my son and his football team play in a tournament. It’s always great watching them and the team is a close-knit one which means the parents are too. Chatting on the sidelines, with what is a lovely group of football mums (and dads), is one of the highlights of my week when our boys play their weekly Sunday matches, the social aspect for both players and families being a lovely bonus. Our team finished top of their group after six matches. The quarter and semi-finals both went to extra time but they won the final convincingly, beating their opponents 3-0 in ordinary time. Thankfully, thankfully, no penalty shoot-outs were required because as mother of the goalkeeper, I can hardly bear to watch. The victory was particularly sweet and so well-deserved, because they have reached the final in this same tournament for four years now, only to have beeen beaten in the final. We were all, and still are, absolutely elated and I am as delighted for the fantastic coaching team as I am for our boys. And what better way to celebrate than with a quick drink together afterwards.
The football did of course continue last night as we watched England v Russia in the Euros. We were slightly less elated about that particular result but it will be interesting to watch their progress. I’m from a football-loving family and it’s a big and very important part of my life because of my son’s passion. I do appreciate though that it’s not quite as appealing to others, so for the duration of the the Euros, I’m offering 10% off everything at Lizzy O (Danon jewellery, scarves, pendants and wrap bracelets), with the code footballwidow. I’m hoping to add new stock later this week, so please do keep an eye out. Payment is faciliated via Paypal but checking out as a guest allows payment with major credit cards.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend,
Love Liz x

Finding the right hairdresser is crucial. Your hair looks great Lizzie and you look smashing gorgeous in that pretty LWD. I actually ordered a very similar LWD which you will see on the blog sometime this month. Love the jewelry and those sandals, too.
Do come by and linkup your latest with me tomorrow. Thanks and have the most fabulous day! <3 Ada.
