Do you remember the reptile print leggings that I wore back in January? They were from Hope Fashion which is where today’s dress is from. Hope is a brand aimed towards the 40-plus woman and is the brainchild of Nayna Mackintosh, formerly of Marks and Spencer. The models on the website reflect this demographic and everything is designed to flatter and inspire confidence and the pieces work together to create a capsule wardrobe.
The Cocoon Pocket Dress is made from a beautiful stretch jersey fabric which really does cocoon perfectly. It has large side pockets and the subtle diagonal detailing across the front is like intricately constructed fabric origami.
It simply slips on and is one of those dresses that is just so easy to wear. It doesn’t crumple and because it drapes so beautifully it looks as pristine at the end of the day as it does at the start. It would be perfect for travelling.
I wore mine for a relaxed lunch date and teamed it with silver sandals.
It looks like I’m in an Indonesian hut but I’m not. We had lunch at Utopia on the Broughton Hall Estate in Skipton and this is actually the outdoor shelter they provide for their smoker employees. It’s beautiful and I can’t help thinking it does nothing to discourage the habit, but, it served as a lovely back drop for my photographs today.
I like my clothing to work hard for me and try whenever possible to choose dresses that are adaptable both for different occasions and at different times of the year. I’m looking forward to wearing this dress with heels for an evening occasion and with my reptile print leggings and ankle boots in winter.
I’m attending a 30/40 blogger meet on Monday at The Imperial in Chelsea which is sponsored by Hope. There will be a pop-up shop showcasing the current lines and Nayna Mackintosh is attending, so I’m very much looking forward to meeting her and to catching up with and meeting new fellow bloggers and perhaps trying on a few more pieces.
Love Liz x

I adore that dress, Lizzy, it's the sort of cut I love, in the type of fabric I'm very partial to 🙂 alright, I'll be honest, you had me at iron-free!!!

Iron free is always a winner!!! Yes, it's a lovely cut and drapes perfectly.
Thank you for hosting the link-up. I've added this post xxx
It's a gorgeous dress, and I must say I'm particularly taken with it because it has pockets! I LOVE pockets on dresses and wish more dresses had pockets. They're just so cool! I'd be inclined to also try this dress with jeans, I reckon it'd look lovely. As always, you look stunning!

That's a great style on you Liz. The cut flatters your figure perfectly and I'm loving the idea of the pockets.

I love this! I bought a dress in a similar shape recently but it doesn't have any give and I learned too late that it is dry clean only. I will definitely check this one out #brilliantblogposts
