Another day, another dress, another birthday cake.
Yesterday we celebrated my mum’s birthday and one of the many benefits of being self-employed and working from home is the fact that I can entertain and have a glass or two of Prosecco on a Monday lunch time. Of course, this isn’t typical for me, so it was a treat, particularly as the children are still on holiday from school.
My dress is another which I have had for at least two years and is one I always enjoy wearing, though looking at the photographs is making me question whether it’s a little too short. I can’t decide if it’s because I’ve been enjoying wearing midi-skirts of late or if it’s because I perhaps *should* be wearing things that end closer to the knee at the age of 42. I’ll leave this particular debate for another time though.
My pink brogues are divine and were a very well-chosen Christmas gift from Adam and I find them to be as versatile as they are comfortable. I wear brogues with dresses as much as I do with jeans and have just updated my most popular post of all time to include my latest brogues outfits. How To Style Brogues features not only my brogues outfits, but how the celebrities style theirs plus other inspiration sourced from Pinterest.
This beautiful Katie Loxton pouch was sent to me as a thank you gift from Aspire Style for taking part in the recent style challange in which I wore the most beautiful floral midi-skirt. They come in an array of mouthwatering colours and my special discount code LIZZY10 entitles you to a 10% discount off the entire Aspire Style website.
And because I love to bake, a Victoria Sponge for my mum.
Love Liz x

Ah, that's such a lovely thing to say. Thank you so much! It did just feel a little short for some reason when I wore it this time! xxx
Hi Lizzie, I am Ada. I have stopped by before. I love the retro way you styled this gorgeous off-white lace sheath. The baby blue clutch and blush brogue shoes are so pretty!
I also run a linkup on Thursdays. This week’s current, brand-new linkup is live (a day early). I would love for you to join it. Thank you. Ada. =)

Thank you so much. They sure are! xxx
love the dress and I don't think it's too short, the brogues are great too and look really nice with the dress. I have just had a look at the Aspire Style website and love the dresses on there, I have been looking for a dress for a wedding and I think I have found it. Thank you
Oh thank you so much. Yes, I really couldn't decide if it looked too short, whereas I have never thought that before! The Aspire website has some beautiful dresses yes. Don't forget to use LIZZY10 to get your 10% discount xxx
Lizzie, your first sentence made me laugh; you've really had a lot to celebrate lately, haven't you? You look as yummy as your Victoria Sponge cake in that dress and brogues. I think shorter skirts work well with flat shoes, and you really prove the point here. An adorable outfit that is SO Liz. xx
I have indeed. There are a lot of family birthdays in March and April! Aw, thank you so much Lisa for the lovely words xxx
Lizzie you have such a fresh approach to clothes, every outfit you style looks so unique! I would never have put those brogues with that dress, yet it works – perfectly! Keep styling and I'll keep being inspired.
