I have been saying for a while now that orange is THE colour of the season. And each time I have proceeded to declare that I shall be merely dipping a toe into the trend, (almost literally), courtesy of my orange Mulberry shoes, because I have always thought that orange wouldn’t suit my fair skin and reddish blonde hair.
So when I was offered the opportunity to try this Pique Jacket by Precis in this most vibrant of shades, I was curious to see how it would look. I was equally curious to see what the fit was like because Precis was previously known as being a brand specifically designed for the petite woman. At almost 5 ft 9 tall and a UK size 10-12, I cannot by any stretch of the imagination be described as petite, but, Precis has moved away from that notion, towards being a brand of perfect proportions.
The edge to edge jacket has hook and eye fastenings and a detachable black corsage which I chose not to attach. That can be put to good use elsewhere.
Being Good Friday, the bank holiday presented me with an invitation to go to my Italian friend’s house for lunch. Three courses and delicious. I decided to dress the jacket down with boyfriend jeans and silver slip-on trainers. Having a penchant for pineapples meant that this jersey top caught my eye and its lighthearted vibe felt just perfect for a sunny day off. It’s from Dash Fashion and is £29.
Wearing the jacket open and over a print meant that it didn’t look like a block of colour, the cropped shape meaning the same.
I feel like I have stepped out of my comfort zone by trying this jacket and although I have several reddish-orange dresses, this is the only true orange item of clothing in my closet.
And…I absolutely love it.
The bright jacket called for statement jewellery so I added my leather T-bar wrap bracelet with gold heart…
Along with my double stars ring in matt gold, both items of jewellery coming from my online boutique, Lizzy O.
You can see my blogging friend Catherine wearing her gold stars ring over on her blog Not Dressed as Lamb.
So, can redheads wear orange?
Yes, definitely. The shade must be right, but that’s true of any colour.
And does Precis fit a non-petite woman?
Yes, it does. And it fits her well.
And if you’re still in doubt, just be like a pineapple.
Stand tall, be sweet on the inside and wear a crown
Happy Easter,
Love Liz x

A lovely look for spring/summer – you never know we may actually get one or the other this year! I don't need any convincing about Precis – as a vertically challenged 🙂 person, I am already a fan! Works well on you too, though, so shows how versatile their fit is! I love your last line there – it will be my new mantra – stand tall (all 4 feet 10 of me!), be sweet on the inside and wear a crown! Brilliant – I will now be embracing my inner pineapple! Happy Easter!
Aw, Happy Easter xxx
Yes, it's surprising how well the Précis jacket did fit. And yes, I think we should all be like pineapples!! xxxx
Love the last two lines!
And that jacket is just gorgeous on you. Ideal for spring & summer .. should they ever arrive 🙂
Haha! Thank you. Yes, we should all be like pineapples Helen. Happy Easter xxxxxx
Liz that colour is *perfect* on you – as you say you've found the right shade for your colouring, and it looks soooooooooo good with the pineapple tee and jeans, especially being that cropped shape!! You wear casual looks as well as you do beautiful dresses :))
I have to admit I had no idea Precis wasn't exclusively petite anymore… I do like some of their things but have always dismissed them because I've assumed their stuff wouldn't fit me, so thank you for the heads up!
Hope you're enjoying your Easter weekend, don't eat too much chocolate, haha…!!!!!!!
