I love clothes, I really do and I have a lot. I treat them well but in return, I like them to work hard for me, to be versatile and to be worn in different ways at different times of the year.
In a recent post, I styled this floral print satin skirt with a short sleeved black Bardot top, sheer tights and black bow shoes and it looked a little more formal than it does here when styled with a long sleeved top, opaque tights and ankle boots.
It was for a Mother’s day lunch at my parents’ home on Sunday that I wore this outfit, (the fence and ivy in their garden making a nice change from a brick wall, though I did sink somewhat) and it felt perfect for the occasion.
The Mummy necklace was a Mother’s Day gift from my children several years ago. I adore it and wear it often.
These days, they each have their own current account with a debit card and love nothing more than ordering online. My daughter chose a selection of teabags, make-up and chocolate for me, which she presented beautifully in a gift box, while my son ordered a scented candle and had it delivered to himself, having assumed the title of “Lord”. He went on to tell me told me that he couldn’t decide between that or Admiral.
I was touched beyond belief that both had put so much time and effort into their gifts and I treasure such happy times with my family.
My rose gold wrap bracelet is from my own collection at Lizzy O and is also available in silver. It is super sparkly, something which is hard to capture even in the clearest of photographs.
And from the beautiful flowers on my skirt…
…To these sublime snowdrops in the garden, it was a perfect and beautiful day.
Love Liz x

Glad to hear that you had a lovely Mother's Day. Your skirt is so pretty! I must admit I have often fancied giving myself a grand title when ordering online but have never dared yet – maybe next time I order something I will channel my inner Countess (Boden has the best selection of titles for future reference!)!
Thank you Bee, yes, it was a lovely day. Haha, yes, I quite fancy a title too. He had something delivered from Amazon today addressed to Sir…!Go on Bee, I dare you…! xxx
Beautiful! Your son deliberating between Admiral and Lord made me chuckle – I'd never considered giving myself an interesting title! Now what shall I call myself next time I order online?! xxx
Thank you Leigh. Haha! It's quite tempting isn't it! xxx

Thank you very much Josep-Maria. It is a pretty floral isn't it! xxx
Your skirt is divine!!
Thank you so much Sheela xxx
What is it about blondes wearing black that's so sexy? You are one hot mama & not a sliver of flesh showing!
Brilliant styling Lizzy, love it.

Ah, thank you. I'm very lucky yes. My children put so much thought into their gifts, so precious xxx
I love this skirt, even though it has flowers on it :-). The black background makes it so elegant ladylike and less girly; I might even be able to pull this off, but not as well as you. xx
Haha! Why thank you Lisa. You'd look fab in anything you chose to wear xxx
Your necklace is so sweet, especially paired with that fabulous floral skirt!
