Yesterday my children, parents and I celebrated my dad’s 65th birthday with a lunch at my home. I’m always glad that he has a birthday in January as it gives us something to look forward to post-Christmas.
I’ll never tire of writing just how brilliant he and my mum have been, especially over the last year or so. Their unconditional love and support continues and I’m fortunate to have young fit parents who are so willing to help me out. Not only that, I love their company and there is always lots of laughter. We have a close, open relationship and their advice is invaluable.
I wanted to wear my new Clarks leopard print boots so chose a simple little black dress that has been a favourite for about a year. It needed little more than a statement necklace and it allowed the boots to speak for themselves. It’s worth saying that they fit true to size and are incredibly comfortable.
It was the most perfect winter’s day. Cold and clear (with little sign of the snow that was to fall later).
Copper, bronze and rose gold accessories have been popular for a few seasons now and I got this ice-bucket just before Christmas…
…And I chose bronze coloured birthday candles and decorations to adorn the chocolate cake I’d baked.
Love Liz x
