Outfit: LBD and Leopard Print Boots (For a Birthday Lunch)

Yesterday my children, parents and I celebrated my dad’s 65th birthday with a lunch at my home. I’m always glad that he has a birthday in January as it gives us something to look forward to post-Christmas.

I’ll never tire of writing just how brilliant he and my mum have been, especially over the last year or so. Their unconditional love and support continues and I’m fortunate to have young fit parents who are so willing to help me out. Not only that, I love their company and there is always lots of laughter. We have a close, open relationship and their advice is invaluable.

I wanted to wear my new Clarks leopard print boots so chose a simple little black dress that has been a favourite for about a year. It needed little more than a statement necklace and it allowed the boots to speak for themselves. It’s worth saying that they fit true to size and are incredibly comfortable.

It was the most perfect winter’s day. Cold and clear (with little sign of the snow that was to fall later).

Copper, bronze and rose gold accessories have been popular for a few seasons now and I got this ice-bucket just before Christmas…

…And I chose bronze coloured birthday candles and decorations to adorn the chocolate cake I’d baked.

Love Liz x

Oh now I'm REALLY sorry that I didn't buy those boots last week. Absolutely love how you've styled them. I am definitely going back to Clarks to find them. Fingers crossed they're still there x

Your boots are great! I have leopard print heels from Clarks that I love. The print really adds to an outfit. I also love your necklace. Happy Birthday to your dad – he is very lucky to have such an awesome baker as a daughter!!

Thank you so much Bee. Yes, I agree that leopard print really adds to an outfit. Aw, you're very kind- it was a very simple cake recipe! I posted your Hairfinity prize yesterday, so hopefully it will be with you very soon! xxx
