I went on a lunch date today with a dashing and distinguished gentleman who happens to be my dad.
We ate at Country Harvest, in Ingleton, North Yorkshire, close to both the Lancashire and Cumbria borders. Where the Lakes meets the Dales really. We were reviewing it for the magazine I write for and I can’t think of a better way of combining business with pleasure. It was so lovely to spend time with my dad and have the opportunity to chat and enjoy his company.
The review will be in the August issue and I will put it on my blog once it is in print but I’ve included a few photographs from today.
My dress is one of my favourites from last year. I love the quirky flamingo print and the light cotton voile. It’s just so swishy.
As well as the cafe-restaurant, Country Harvest has a gift shop and an amazing farm shop where the “Young Butcher of the Year” resides.
It was a warm day so we both ordered a cold lunch. This is my dad’s Three Peaks Platter…
…and my Seafood Platter. Both were faultless. And yes, we both ate everything.
And how magnificent is my dad’s lemon meringue pie ?
We ended with coffee…
…and a stroll outside to enjoy the beautiful setting.
It couldn’t have been more perfect.

I wore this dress with glittery Jimmy Choos last summer for champagne and canapes with the girls.
