I had a fantastic weekend away in Glasgow, celebrating my friend Lesley’s 40th birthday. We met more than 20 years ago at university and see each other as often as is logistically possible, given the 200 miles between us. We hadn’t managed to meet since my own 40th, back in October 2013, so I was incredibly excited to see her and celebrate with her.
Glasgow city centre is beautiful. A lot of interesting architecture and great shops and restaurants. Taking it all in was a perfect way to spend Saturday morning.
This rather fabulous yellow skeleton caught my eye in the Ted Baker store which has been recently refurbished. The displays in there are brilliant. Very inventive and very yellow.
The weather was mixed during the first part of the day so I opted for skinny jeans, brogues and a lightweight quilted jacket.
Later on Saturday afternoon, we met for cocktails at a city centre bar. I wore my sixties style lace dress with flats for the walk from hotel to bar and back.
On the left here is Charlotte who was also at university us, Lesley is next to her and Laura is next to me.
Stripes and a yellow handbag would appear to be de rigeur
And then it was another change back at the hotel before heading out for a tapas supper.
