It was a day of three halves today.
I know, I know- but a day of three thirds doesn’t sound as good.
It started relatively early in my role as mummy. Today is my daughter’s 14th birthday and it’s been a long time since she saw two 7 o’clocks in one day. It’s amazing how a usually somnolent teen can wake bright and early when there are presents are to be opened.
It was then a short walk to my son’s school for an 8.50am parent consultation meeting with his form tutor. He had to accompany me, dressed in his uniform. but then was granted the rest of the day off. He did, of course, take great delight in reminding his sister of his great fortune of being off school on her birthday.
The second half of my day saw me in my role as magazine writer and editor and I went to conduct an interview with the sales manager of Reeves Flooring Solutions for the May issue of Aspire Magazine. I have learned so much in this role that has only been mine since the start of the year. Meeting new people and networking is another aspect of the job I love.
My third and final role of the day was that of party animal.
My friend Annemarie and I took our daughters to Easter Bingo. Yes bingo. A fundraiser at her children’s school.
And it was brilliant fun.
I started off wearing skinny jeans with just a jacket over my top because it was beautifully sunny first thing. I then needed to get changed after getting spectacularly caught in a hailstorm that lasted precisely the 5 minutes it took me to walk from the post office back home and managed to soak me through.
As well as dragonflies and butterflies, I love bees. This one gets a little lost near my shoulder.
It’s been a while since I wore these tan leather Boho boots. I’d forgotten how much I love them and in fact, how comfy they are.
Love Liz x
