I can hardly believe it’s September. These five months have been the most difficult and turbulent of my life and I feel like I’ve been catapulted to here from March.
It’s all rather a blur.
Like many women, I feel so much better about myself if I make an effort with my clothes, my make-up and my hair. So it’s reassuring to look back over my blog and see from my summer outfit posts that I continued to enjoy getting dressed up, celebrating and sharing very happy times with friends and family. My holiday in Porto Santo and Sally’s wedding were the highlights of my summer.
These are my favourite outfits. The rest are here on Pinterest.

And so, as we enter Autumn, we enter a new phase in our lives, because today my son started secondary school. An all boys grammar which I believe will challenge him, stretch him and enrich him. He has the most wonderful male role models in my father and my brothers, but now he lives with just my daughter and me so I think it’s the perfect balance. He’s eleven and has had to grow up a lot. He’s the self-proclaimed “man of the house” and I couldn’t be prouder. Despite everything, he continued to shine at school and on the football pitch. His resilience and maturity go way beyond his years.
But, he’ll always be my baby so the tears which I managed to contain until he set off with his dear friend, were those of utter pride tinged with a little sadness because I know things will never quite be the same again.

You always look fantastic and you've continued to do so, Liz, after all you've been through this year. I love you sequins and metallic outfit. Just stunning. The white and the cream dresses with your Boden sandals are so lovely too. Lynne xx
Aw, thank you Lynne. It has been very tough at times but I do feel very excited for the future too xxx
Your children are so blessed to have you as their mum Liz. I hope all went well for your son today. New chapters beginning. Stay strong lovely lady : ) xx
Thank you so much. It's the best compliment to be told I'm a good mum. But, it's made so much easier by having lovely children and a big support network x
You should be so proud of yourself, it must have been really difficult but you have still been so dedicated with your blog, so professional! I'm sure you have got such a bright future to look forward too. It's a funny time of year, my little one started in year one today, it really feels like they are growing up fast – the eldest started in year 3, makes me feel like the years are racing by!
