I saw so many things of beauty in Porto Santo when we were there at the start of the month but one of my favourites was seeing the little lizards scuttling about. They busied themselves amongst the succulent plants and seemed to be drinking from the flowers.
One climbed up the parasol under which we were sitting and my daughter got rather a surprise when she tried to stroke it and it took a leap of faith and landed in her hand.
The hibiscus bushes stopped me in my tracks each time I walked past.
And because I love a scalloped edge…
