The Next Spring Summer '17 Press Preview.

I wrote last week about my visit to the Kaleidoscope Press Day that took place in London the previous week. 'Tis the season for press previews with several retailers holding theirs on the same day, so after I had been to Kaleidoscope I went to see Next, which I'm writing about here followed by Cath Kidston and Lotus which I'll write about at a later date.

The Next SS17 press preview took place at One Marylebone, London which is an absolutely stunning venue. There were staff walking around serving canapes, always so welcome after what is always an early start and after a lot of "upping and downing" on the tube traversing London.

The collections were arranged into ladies, mens, children's and home. As a whole, the ladieswear was stunning. I've seen a change in direction for Next over the last few seasons and I have found myself getting more and more pieces from there, particularly this current AW season. (The metallic leather look mini skirt and pailette top being one of my favourite outfits this season as well as berry coated jeggings which I wore with a Victoriana lace blouse and the metallic super-skinny jeans which I wore with sequins).

These photographs show what caught my eye and what we can expect to see in spring summer 2017 in Next.

I love the pops of lime in this jacquard mid skirt.

And wait until you see the back of this sheer blouse...

The home wear is contemporary and attainable with some standout statement pieces, particularly the lighting.

Of course canapes are wonderful, but it's even better to have a cocktail or two to go with them.

I can't recall the name of this, (and after two of them I had no chance), but it was gin-based with pink grapefruit juice, tasted divine and was infinitely quaffable.

And because everyone there was Instagramming and sharing on social media, there were charging stations for phones and tablets. An utterly brilliant idea.
