Red and White Striped Swimsuit, A Large Floppy Hat and A Nautical Raffia Beach Bag.

As you know if you're a regular reader, I holidayed in Nerja earlier this summer and have shared  my outfits and some photographs of the stunning resort too. This is my final post about it, although I will write a post comprising of all of my outfits and what I found useful and what I didn't, for this particular type of holiday. As part of my new role as the blogger expert for Kaleidoscope (and thank you very much for all of your lovely feedback on my previous post in which I announced it), I was asked to choose my holiday essentials from their excellent holiday shop.

As much as I like to wear a bikini on the beach, I always take a one-piece swimsuit on holiday for the various activities that I like to partake in. Clambering in to a large rubber ring in the sea and then getting tipped unceremoniously out, courtesy of my 13 year-old son, was enjoyed so much more on my recent holiday in Nerja, knowing I wouldn’t have a wardrobe malfunction while doing so.

The nautical look is one of my summer favourites and is a style classic which will never go out of fashion so this red and white swimsuit was top of my list. This swimwsuit with its bold red and white nautical stripes is a beautiful fit and the low scoop back and cute bow add so much to the style.

A sun hat is of course an essential accessory and this large, floppy straw hat protected my face and hair beautifully and didn’t get crumpled in my suitcase. It is lightweight and comfortable and is as stylish as it is practical.

I found this semi-sheer red chiffon beach cover-up to be an excellent addition to my holiday wardrobe too. I have mentioned before how useful such cover-ups are for breakfast to beach to hotel transit. The asymmetric hemline gives it shape and structure without additional weight. It's floaty and elegant and looked wonderful over the red stripes. I think it would look rather nice too over a vest top and worn with denim or white shorts.

My navy and white raffia beach bag was a hard-working addition to my holiday wardrobe too. Unlike many beach bags, it has a zip closure and is lined in cotton with an internal pocket. The straps are long enough to enable it to be carried on the shoulder as well as a tote. The raffia is smooth (it doesn’t scratch bare legs or arms) and the tan leather accents meant it was smart enough to accompany me to lunch.

  1. Super choices again Lizzy, I love a classic nautical style. These pictures are making me even more excited for our trip next week. We are staying around the corner from where you did, in the square by the church. My only problem is going to be pulling together a holiday wardobe that's half as stylish as yours! Xx

  2. Liz you look absolutely stunning, and the photos are just as stunning... Well done to both model/stylist AND photographer! I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time, it really looks beautiful there and must have been so relaxing for you all. BTW that shot with the hat in front of your face is Atlantic Pacific-worthy - not that I want your lovely face covered up, mind!! ;)
