Chevrons, Pattern Mixing and Pineapples

It's July 1st and it's cool and grey, here in North Yorkshire and I know I'm not alone in feeling the significant drop in temperature over the last few days. I was hoping to be able to wear more of my summer dresses by now and even my shorts, but instead, I'm back in layers.
I wore this chevron tunic on a beautiful warm day at the beginning of May for a day at Tatton Park. Almost two months later, I needed to add a denim jacket and a scarf, (which happens to be one of the new pineapple scarves from my boutique, Lizzy O). These have been really well received and there are only a few left in each colour. They add a much-needed extra layer and are good for a little pattern-mixing. Here the neutral and black sit very well together- a foolproof way of adding interest and texture.
The scarves are large enough to use as sarongs too, so they can earn their keep if they are lucky enough to see some sunshine. I shall be taking the turquoise version with me on my holiday at the end of the month.

Here's the turquoise pineapple scarf that will be accompanying me to the sun in less than 4 weeks!

It's funny how certain things capture the imagination. Last year it was unicorns, a trend that didn't appeal to me whatsoever. This year it's pineapples, a trend that has, in complete contrast, most definitely appealed, from my pineapple printed top that I wore with my bright orange jacket, to my scarves, to using a fresh one as a prop in my Instagram photographs.

...And here are a few more pineapple accessories including my top which is now reduced.
