Monochrome Chevron Cocoon Dress For a Day at Tatton Park.

I can't remember the last time I had a day off. I mean a full day off, during which I didn't do any writing, blogging or interacting on social media. Even when away for my university reunion last weekend, I was replying to work emails and blog comments while on the train. After an incredibly busy working week and after having spent an emotional day with my grandmother who is very poorly in hospital, I jumped at the opportunity to meet friends at Tatton Park, Cheshire for the day on Friday. You may recall I visited last June, when the rhododendrons and azaleas were resplendent, and then in September when invited to view the Guardian Angels art installation.

It was the most beautiful day and it'd been months since I felt the undoubted benefits of a little sunshine.

My dress is by Scandinavian brand Masai and is from independent clothing boutique Gemini Woman, which stocks renowned womenswear brands from the UK and Europe. The black and cream chevron pattern is very striking and the skirt is drawn in at the bottom with ties, giving it a lovely cocoon shape. It's semi-sheer so I teamed it with denim leggings.

The rose-gold pendant I'm wearing is from Lizzy O, my online jewellery and accessories boutique as is the Danon double stars ring.
(Do make sure you sign up to my monthly newsletter, just under the picture of the jewellery at the right hand side of my blog, because every month I offer an exclusive discount code for Lizzy O. I also have an Instagram account for Lizzy O, where you can see more of the jewellery, who's been spotted wearing it and upcoming designs.)

My tan and white watch is from Uncle Jack, an Australian brand that launched here in the UK last week. The watches are all unisex and as such are large and simple in design. I love mine, especially when sitting alongside other jewellery.

At this time of year, it's the blossom and magnolia that shine and I was almost transfixed by the succulent buds and blooms.

The blanket of bluebells was a sight to behold.

And sitting among them reminded me that I really should kick off my shoes and switch off a little more often than I do. The benefits of a day spent with someone special in a beautiful and tranquil location, surrounded by flowers and bathed in sunshine cannot be underestimated. I felt invigorated, relaxed, calm and grateful as always for being self-employed.

    1. Oh Suzy, what a lovely thing to say- thank you. The dress is slightly sheer so I thought I'd better preserve my modesty! I used to love teaming dresses with leggings back in the 90s and because there's a bit of a revival, I decided to go for it! xxx

    1. Thank you so much! As I said to Suzy above, the dress is slightly sheer, so I felt it needed something beneath it. Tatton Park is absolutely beautiful. We love it there xxx
