Outfit: Pink Jersey Top with Boyfriend Jeans and Nude Pink Chelsea Boots for a Day in New Brighton

Yesterday, Saturday, my children spent the day and the night with my brother, sister-in-law and their toddler so I took the opportunity to go to Merseyside to see Adam. We spent the day on the Wirral at New Brighton and found the melancholic greys and of the still wintry-looking seascape, both energising and relaxing.

The traditional pavillion shelters that adorn the seafront and promenade remind me of a bygone era and they're beautifully maintained. The perfect set for taking outfit shots.

I've been favouring boyfriend jeans over skinnies for a while now and teamed them for yesterday's off-duty weekend look with a dusky pink top, nude pink leather Chelsea boots and my faithful grey faux fur jacket. I did ponder whether it should be consigned to the back of the wardrobe until autumn, but decided that it is still way too cold for spring-weight outerwear.

The chunky silver heart pendant on grey leather-look cord is from my own range at Lizzy O and is one of those pieces of jewellery that works with all outfits from distressed jeans to a little black dress.

I've always had a fascination with lighthouses and could have sat for hours just watching and listening to the crashing waves.

New Brighton has a wide promenade and an excellent selection of pubs, hotels and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. The drive from Liverpool city centre take about fifteen minutes and I am already imagining visiting again when the skies are blue.
