I've been in Liverpool for the past day or two with my man. My children are having a ball staying with my parents, so I rest easy knowing they're as happy as I am.
Each time I visit, I see more and more of his stunning home town and everything it has to offer. It couldn't be more different than my own stomping ground of dry-stone walls, hills and sheep.
How lucky we both are to have the best of town and country on our respective doorsteps.
Yesterday, Friday, we went into the city centre and lunched at Chaophraya, a Thai restaurant in Liverpool One.
My chicken satay starter (along with the rest of the meal) was divine.
The washrooms are quite spectacular, having an aquarium running through.
Attached to the restaurant is the Palm Sugar Lounge Bar, which boats a 15 metre granite bar and some quite stunning Swarovski crystal chandeliers.
And the views from our hotel (the stay, a very early birthday present from said man), were nothing short of spectacular as the sun set.
And I could have stayed in this window seat forever.
