Is it really over..?

The last few days have been the best combination of fun, happiness and laughter-  time spent with my most loved ones.

On Christmas Eve, my children and I went out for lunch with my brothers, their wives and children and our parents. After a very busy few months for each of us, it was wonderful to spend time together as a family and to catch up and celebrate our health and happiness which we all consider to be the most important thing.

I wore a dress from last year. Black with matt bronze sequins, it sparkles and shines and I just love the scalloped sleeves and hemline.

The children and I spent a very quiet, relaxing evening together before putting their stockings out and going to bed full of excitement…

…Though not *that* excited it would seem. I was showered, dressed, “coiffured” and had packed the car before they awoke from their teenage slumber.

Christmas morning started off dry which meant we could take a few photographs outside, my son behind the camera on this occasion.
This dress is also from last year and I’m particularly fond of the grey sparkly lace that overlies the navy. I think the rather fabulous hold-ups match perfectly too as do my navy sequinned shoes.

I was so touched by what my children bought for me- the book from my daughter and the candle from my son. Each had ordered their gift independently and wrapped them beautifully and it brought tears to my eyes at the thought they had put in.

We travelled to my parents’ home in Lancashire where we spent Christmas day along with my grandparents and again, it very precious, particularly because my grandparents are 90 and 88 years of age and are not always in good health. My mum did the most wonderful lunch and as many of us will attest, being cooked for is such a treat.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas,

Love Liz x

Happy Christmas week!

Well it’s wet and windy here in Skipton today, (Monday), but yesterday started off bright and clear and we were able to take some outfit photographs outside.

We went to visit dear friends for lunch and spent a lovely afternoon in their beautiful home catching up. They live close to my parents so we went there afterwards and I had a second meal cooked for us. I do love cooking but it’s always a treat to be catered for.

I only own two skirts and I wore the other one, which I’ve had for over 12 years, with this same top last week which you can see here.

This one is a mere two years old and one I love to wear during the festive season. The matt gunmetal sequins are an ideal way to wear sparkles during the day.

My jewellery is by Danon and is available on my website, Lizzy O. Danon are introducing some more beautiful designs which I’m excited about seeing.

My shoes are from two winters ago and the low silver glittery heel, makes them a practical as well as an aesthetically pleasing choice.

I Will Wear What I Like

Can you believe it will be Boxing Day a week from now? The days are whizzing by in a blur of nights out, Christmas occasions and work.

On Wednesday night I had the privilege of combining business with pleasure because along with my friend Sally, I did a restaurant review at the Coniston Hotel and Country Estate just outside of Skipton. We dined in the Huntsman’s Lodge and as you’ll see from the photographs below, it truly is a beautiful place to eat and was an evening we enjoyed thoroughly.

My skirt could perhaps be described as vintage. I wore it for my son’s first Christmas and he is 12, I haven’t worn it for a while but I love it as much as when it was new and it just felt right for the occasion. (It was from Coast and actually, so is my top. This season and reduced to £29 from £49 at the time of writing)

My Jimmy Choos, perhaps unsurprisingly, are still my favourite shoes ever and they themselves are over six years old as is my little clutch bag.

My jewellery however is brand new and is from Lizzy O, my exciting new online jewellery collection curated from Israeli brand, Danon.

My accessories can be seen a little clearer in this flatlay I posted on Instagram

The focal point of The Huntsman’s Lodge is this stunning open fireplace which we were seated next to.

I’ll share the full restaurant review when it is out in print in Aspire’s February issue but suffice to say my main course of grouse casserole and dessert of cappucinno creme brulee with Bailey’s ice-cream and a shortbread biscuit was utterly divine.

Until 31st December and to celebrate the launch of Lizzy O, there is a 10% discount with the code WLL10. All orders are individually packaged in a gift box or pouch and benefit from free UK delivery. Orders by Tuesday 22nd December will be dispatched before Christmas.
